Career Success Stories

(Investment Manager)

When I first met Phil, I was in a time of transition in my career.  There were lots of things that were frustrating in my job at the time.  I was ready to make a change.

I worked to identify my core skills, values and what I wanted to achieve in a new role.  It was really important to figure out what made me tick.

This helped me to develop a long-term road map for my career.  Even though that was 18 months ago, it is still my career plan.

Using this I found a new role providing tax advice and services to private clients at a large city institution.  I'm really enjoying this work and feel I have great career momentum.

I've continued to work with Phil through the transition. It is great having someone independent as a sounding board for my ideas.  It's helped me to look at my career choices in the broader context of life and to validate my thoughts.

I really appreciate having an external mentor.  Phil helps me keep pushing myself to improve my work and learn new skills.  It helps me to generate new ideas and get energy and motivation for my work.

My current role is a much better fit for me and I have a clear plan in my mind of my long-term direction.  The value is having a core foundation for my career direction and being held accountable to that.
